PICKERINGTON, Ohio - American Motorcyclist Association
The American Motorcyclist Association recognizes and appreciates the dedication and sacrifice of all who gave their lives in service to our country and extends its deep gratitude to their families and friends this Memorial Day, May 25.
"It is important on Memorial Day, and throughout the year, for us to pause and reflect on the many freedoms that we, as motorcyclists and as Americans, enjoy," said Rob Dingman, AMA president and CEO. "Our American military fights hard for those freedoms, and many have given their lives on our behalf.
"Among those freedoms is the right to travel our great nation, especially on a motorcycle," Dingman said.
The holiday weekend presents ample opportunity for motorcyclists to enjoy their freedom to ride. The AMA encourages motorists to be alert to motorcyclists, who will be on the road to participate in AMA-sanctioned events, Memorial Day parades and freedom rides or simply to visit family and friends. And we urge motorcyclists to ride safely and be alert and sober.
"With the roadways more crowded with holiday travelers, we urge extra caution for everyone in an effort to ensure a safe Memorial Day weekend," Dingman said.
